Bold branding fit for the future of Hellesdon Sixth Form

The Wensum Trust invested £278,000 in Hellesdon Sixth Form to create a more engaging and modern learning and social environment for students.

A key part of this transformation was developing a new visual identity that reflects the Sixth Form’s future-focused vision and helps attract and inspire prospective students. FOUR was asked to deliver a new logo and branding solution to support the modern future of the Sixth Form and attract and inspire future students.

What we did

FOUR were commissioned to create a new logo and branding solution for the Sixth Form. Recognising the importance of student involvement in shaping their environment, FOUR’s Creative Director led a branding workshop with the school’s own Graphic Design students from Years 11, 12, and 13.

This provided students with valuable hands-on experience working with a professional design agency while also giving them some real-world work to contribute to their coursework.To help The Wensum Trust bring the new brand to life, we also produced an animated logo video and worked with local signage specialists, CIM, to install branded signage throughout the Sixth Form building.

The Challenge

Balancing professional design standards with student input was a fun-filled challenge and an education for our team as much as it was for the students! We wanted to ensure the branding was future-proof, versatile, and aligned with the Trust’s vision, while also honouring the impressive ideas and creativity of the students involved for a brand made by the students, for the students. 

Results

The result is a bold, modern brand identity that reflects the values and ambitions of Hellesdon Sixth Form. The signage, logo animation, and student-led design process have brought new energy to this locally leading educational environment. The Wensum Trust now has a comprehensive brand toolkit that can be utilised across all communications, signage, and digital platforms.

Reflections

This project is a strong example of how co-creation with students can lead to not only a powerful outcome but also a meaningful process.

It highlights the value of investing in young talent and creating educational opportunities through real-world projects. For FOUR, it was a privilege to work on a project that empowers the next generation and reinforces the impact of great design in education.
